Heading Into The Pr

Just a quick update for everyone - Patrick is heading into the procedure now. I'm not sure why they are starting late, but I know it gave Patrick extra time to become more anxious and stressed. Please pray for him, and send him positive vibes. He needs all he can get. He said the nurses told him he would be mildly sedated because he can't be put under full anesthesia. The anesthesia medication will permeate his heart and cause it to stop working, so he'll get some "happy juice" and be kept awake instead. Instead of going through one side of his groin and through his chest wall they have decided to go through both sides of his groin. He complained that the nurses have cold hands. And he'll have a catheter. Oh joy. His pacemaker and defibrillator will be turned off because they will want to correct his heart while the doctor works on it. An external defibrillator will be attached to him throughout the procedure. They told him the odds he will have to be brought back are high. That's all for now.
