Patrick is currently enjoying *evil giggle* a 5-hour layover in Anchorage, before he leaves for Seattle at 1:30am. He will receive a rapid Covid-19 test when he arrives for his appointment at 7:15am Seattle time (6:15am Alaska time). After they get the negative result they will do the ablation. He gets into Seattle at 6:00am. This was the best we could do. He's going to be tired. This is basically a repeat of his last visit in March, except with the added bonus of a really uncomfortable procedure. He will have had no rest, and I feel so badly for him. I wish there was more I could do. I am setting my alarm for 5:15 so I can catch him when he gets off the plane. I want to talk to him before he goes into the hospital, and I made sure to tell him already to call as soon as he could after the procedure. I'm worried, but I am also trying to have faith. I pray this procedure is successful, and I pray we can put off the transplant for a few years. We have a great friend who lives in Seattle who will be playing Significant Other for a few hours. I will be keeping in touch with him, and will update this page when I know more. Thanks everyone for the support, the prayers, and the well wishes. The last couple days have been incredibly stressful, but our support network is just that - a net. When we feel like we're about to fall apart, you guys catch us. You're amazing ❤️

Just a quick update for everyone - Patrick is heading into the procedure now. I'm not sure why they are starting late, but I know it gave Patrick extra time to become more anxious and stressed. Please pray for him, and send him positive vibes. He needs all he can get. He said the nurses told him he would be mildly sedated because he can't be put under full anesthesia. The anesthesia medication will permeate his heart and cause it to stop working, so he'll get some "happy juice" and be kept awake instead. Instead of going through one side of his groin and through his chest wall they have decided to go through both sides of his groin. He complained that the nurses have cold hands. And he'll have a catheter. Oh joy. His pacemaker and defibrillator will be turned off because they will want to correct his heart while the doctor works on it. An external defibrillator will be attached to him throughout the procedure. They told him the odds he will have to be brought back are high. That's all for now. I'll wait for the next call letting me know what's going on, and I'll post a quick update here. Thanks everyone for keeping Patrick in your thoughts today ❤

Patrick is still here!
I mean, he's alive, yes. But... he is still in Alaska. Don't worry. Nothing tragic has happened in the hours since my last post 😆
Due to a flight mix-up and some confusion with his insurance, he will not make it to Seattle in time for tomorrow's Covid-19 test, which means the electrophysiologist won't be able to perform the ablation procedure on Wednesday.
This procedure has been scheduled for two months. If we have to wait two more months for this to happen...
Yeah. Jim Carrey. What little hair Patrick has will be gone, and I may have some bald spots.
Please keep us in your thoughts. We spent all week ramping up and stressing over this procedure, only to have our plans come crashing down around us today. We are on our way to unpack his bag.
On the plus side - more time together is never a bad thing ❤
